Respect

At Haddenham Rovers Colts Football Club, we pride ourselves on providing a safe, friendly and encouraging environment for your child to play football. To achieve this we follow both the letter and the spirit of the FA Respect guidelines.

During their training sessions and on match day our coaches ensure that your child knows and understands these guidelines but also, parents and spectators have a part to play in ensuring that football is fun and accessible to all.

We respectfully ask that parents and spectators do not give instructions to players during a game, as these can often confuse players and may be in direct contradiction to what their coaches are asking of the players.

Please also refrain from saying things like “get rid”, “well done” or “good enough” if a player kicks the ball out of play. Many of our teams encourage their players to try and find ways to keep the ball in play and to be brave with the way they play.

As a club, we do not tolerate any abuse of match officials. There is absolutely no reason for a spectator to say or shout anything at a referee or assistant referee. Even if you feel they have given an incorrect decision. Many of our referees are children, and we are sure that everyone will agree that shouting abuse at children is unacceptable under any circumstances.

Below are the FA Respect guidelines and we would like you to take a minute to read through them. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to talk to your team coaches or contact the HRCFC welfare officer.

Thank you.
